First John has led Rick and Angela Schiller the founders of First John, in many directions the past six years. They have performed in numerous venues to help raise money for many charitable events. "It is such a wonderful feeling when you know you can help" says Angela.

They have performed for the United Methodist District Superintendant for Southwest Michigan, helped in the Alpha program with their church by leading the members in music before starting classes and leading the members in worship at the Gun Lake Retreat Center for the alpha retreat. First John also led worship with the Hope Lutheran Church in a special Sunday night service that ran for eight weeks called "The Hearty Eucharist", they have also performed at The First Presbyterian Churches program "Raising the Roof" to raise money for their new roof, performed in a few Christmas programs and led children singing songs for Vacation Bible School for a couple churches in the past six years.

First John has also performed outside of churches. They performed at the Plainwell Variety Show for the Rotary Revue in Plainwell Michigan, the Allegan Festival in Allegan Michigan, a fourth of July banquet for Senior Residents in Kalamazoo Michigan and a Mother and Daughter banquet in Plainwell, Michigan.

When First John started their music ministry they discovered that GOD had blessed them with a special gift never realizing what their capabilities were by being able to perform a wide variety of music. They have always tried to be versatile in their music with performing songs off the top 40 Chart to Christian Rock, Country, Gospel, Rock and so on. After starting their music ministry they have also discovered they have been blessed to compose music.

In the music studio on the First John official website you will find the songs Rick and Angela have recorded so far, while currently working on more songs to record. While rough demo cuts, they feel the music has a "Great Raw Sound".

As it says in Psalms 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble AND in Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things in him who strengthens me.
